Hewlett Street House, constructed under the supervision of MPR Design Group attracts the visitors with the contrast in color and form with its surrounding buildings. The house locality is Bronte Beach in Australia. As per some saying, this house explores the notion of refuge and prospect. The architects says about the refuge and prospect differently.
The views of beach and coast, changing constantly as seen from the south of the site is the prospect and refuge might be defined as the contrasting character where introspective spaces have been created to provide the required sense of enclosure and sanctuary.
As seen from a distance the house looks like a huge bird nest that seems to be composed of a couple of concrete boxes. The lower side of the house is designed to face the street and the upper half is oriented towards the beach. The house is designed to have three stories.
The first two floors consist of bedrooms along with the refuge area. The living is situated on the top floor. This different and unusual design of this house makes it possible for the natural light to get inside the house very easily. So have a look of some snaps at this house.
