Channa Horombuwa(the architect), is the mind behind the following construction we are going to discuss. This project is just a conversion of half constructed house in a piece of art work in a Sri Lankan city, Dompe.
This house was initially half way done. Meaning there was no roof but some raw brick walls were there. The house was not going according to the expectations of the owner. This new construction now is made up of five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Along with all these, there is a large dining room, living and pantry rooms. Kitchen and TV room is also placed precisely. The Gym to get physical strength is located near to the pool.
The double heighted living room is designed in such a way that it opens towards garden on one side and on the other side, it opens at the deck and pool. Probably, this was done to maintain an indoor outdoor synchronization with the help of large glazed panels. The lobby attached to the stairs, is also of the same double height.
The staircase is special as it floats in one stretch adjacent to a textured wall with varying glass openings in different sizes. The garden is spread all over the house front and ultimately meets the pool in the backside. The glass space provided at the deep end of pool is a perfect place for visitors to sit upon. So enjoy this picture tour of this house.
